IRON SHARPENS IRON
A Monthly Series for Men
Through a series of nine meetings on one Thursday evening a month, topics that speak to men’s lives are studied and discussed. At each meeting, two men of the Bethesda congregation provide pertinent Christ centered instruction and experiences that are significant to men in our time and culture. The two man “tag-team” approach provides a variety of insight and depth of experience.
After the teaching a time of discussion and application follows. Men have the opportunity to interact with other men, ask questions and explore the topic relative to their life. Each group includes a seasoned man of the congregation at the helm to listen, offer encouragement and guide the discussion. Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
This group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Auditorium and begins September 22 at 7 p.m. Contact Rev. Patrick Visger for the current schedule or for details.
EVENTS FOR MEN
Events for men occur throughout the year and offer men a chance to come together to renew and establish friendships and grow in God. Events include men’s breakfasts with special speakers, an annual grill-off which includes food, fun, and competition as we kick off the fall season, men’s retreats, car shows, community projects and outreach.
MEN'S SPORTS
Bethesda offers a variety of sporting activities for men from the congregation and the surrounding community to participate competitively in a Christian environment. Summer time includes Softball and Soccer leagues which can accommodate up to 12 teams. Fall and winter are a time for basketball, again with up to 12 teams participating. Many churches from the community are represented and families are welcome to participate and root for their favorite team.
